Repost — Some appointments are simply divine.

If you don’t go, you’ll never know what you missed, but if you do go, you’ll realize in that moment that you were meant to be there all along.
I’ve experienced this many times in my life, but I didn’t have a name for that feeling until my friend Tiffinay and I read this book called Prayer of Jabez nearly a decade ago. The author refers to those instances as divine appointments. I’m guilty of not obeying those divine appointments. I always believe what is for me is for me, so I need to make sure that I’m not missing out on what is meant for me.

We’re all guilty of doing it, so cut yourself some slack. I always say “When you know better, you do better.” P.S. I love your posts! Keep ’em coming.

Girl, yes! I have them on the regular…I had one in the shoe store. I found myself holding a lady who was going through a rough spot in life.

I knew it! God will find you wherever you are. He wants us to be his hands and feet. I’m sure that lady was grateful that you were obedient. ❤

I read the prayer of Jabez, a long time ago! You remind me that I should reread the book! I think it happens to all of us, but we should follow that instinct. For example many people are supposed to pick up the phone or call someone and the next thing you know they have passed away. That’s an extreme example but a very real one.

This is a connection with the Holy Spirit. God wants to connect with us, but we sometimes ignore his gentle whispers. I’ve learned to obey — even when I don’t want to. Blessings to you, Tiffany. ❤

That happens to me all the time! Whenever I end up going, it turns out to be an opportunity made just for me.

I bet it happens to many of us, but I wonder how many actually keep these appointments. 🙂

I’ve had those moments when I’ve been lazy and not wanting to go somewhere or be around anyone, but go anyway, and then it turns out to be a “gift” in a sense, for me.

Yep…we must listen to those gentle tugs and whispers. It’s always worth it. I try to look at it as the answer to someone’s prayer.

I think we have all had these type of moments. I am a firm believer that everything happens for a reason though.

One of the things about divine appointments to me is that you have to show up for it! The appointment will be made but you have to show up!
